#BoldandBeautiful fans we are here for another week and unfortunately (or should I say fortunately) my position has not changed on the current story lines. I’m appalled. Ready, set, go: “Let’s Talk About Soaps.”
Congratulations are in order, I hear, for STEAM and STEAMITES on their engagement. This couple has gone through much turmoil through the years and maybe they will be happy for the designated maximum of 3 months—the shelf life for #BoldandBeautiful couples.
Let me begin by saying that I have absolutely no desire for #BoldandBeautiful to be cancelled. My desire is for it to return to its glory days, when it portrayed wonderful and meaningful story lines. Whether Bradley Bell realizes it or not, we are in a different era now, and the days of dismissing fans are over due to social media.
Fans will initially let their favorite The Powers That Be (TPTB) at their shows know their opinions, and then, if there is no change, they will begin to reach out to the companies that advertise during the show and the network that carries the show. This step is what causes cancellations. Advertisers refuse to be attached to anything or anyone that is detrimental to their bottom line. At this juncture, #BoldandBeautiful is about to place fans in this position due to its turning a deaf ear to its fans.
Maybe Bell is foretelling his destiny when he said in a recent interview, “If CBS ever canceled us, I think we could keep B&B alive based on its global appeal.” This mindset is limited because many countries where #BoldandBeautiful is aired are more conservative than the U.S. than areas Bell is thinking of.
No, I didn’t watch the #BoldandBeautiful this week, because of the continuous, needless destruction of characters we know and love and the demeaning assault on female intelligence, I will continue not to watch for the rest of November because November Sweeps is what lead to the most recent character assignation of Ivy.
So, will STEAM’s wedding go off without a hitch? Will they have a long and successful marriage? Or will someone interfere? If so, who will that be?
