Breaking Up and Breaking Out
Hello, LTAS readers! I’m Dr. Riley, Human Relations Analyst, and I’m back again with my analysis of the people in Port Charles. Here’s what I observed this week
Observations
Anna Devane is out on bail! She spent a week in lock up at the PCPD, and despite Paul’s efforts to keep her there, she made bail. What will her next step be? Will she lay low or is she going to go back to gathering evidence against Paul and Carlos? She can’t really go anywhere unless she skips bail. She wouldn’t do that would she?
Tracy Q is well and leaving GH. She first called an emergency Board meeting and had Dr. Obrecht removed as the Chief of Staff! I was just getting used to her snide remarks and self-entitlement too! So long, Liesel.
Monica Q has been asked to step in as the new Chief of Staff. She was very happy to take her old job back and even offered to have Dr. O stay on staff, but she wanted no part of that. Monica was touched to learn that it was Tracy who insisted she be the new Chief, so was I. Tracy seems to be getting softer with age. Or maybe she just has a new perspective on life after her latest brush with death?
Rachel Berlin is not liked at all. Curtis is her only friend. Everyday, more people are recognizing her as Rachel and aren’t shy about showing their disgust for her. Scotty Baldwin is broke because of her father and Dr. Finn lost someone close to him because of a drug trial that was bled dry by her father, allowing people to die as a result. Who else in PC has her father swindled? Why does she insist on staying there? I would leave if I were she, wouldn’t you?
Dr. Finn has been given a full time position at GH now that Monica is running the show. He demanded full use of a laboratory and total privacy about the work he is doing. Does his experiment have anything to do with the drug trial that his former colleague (the one that is now dead) started? It’s obvious he doesn’t have diabetes from the foods he eats, so what is he doing? Maybe we will find out once he gets in the lab alone, if Brad will let that happen.
Julian Jerome let Ava know that he is running the organization again. She warned him that he couldn’t keep it a secret before, and that Alexis will find out. He insists she keep quiet and that everything will be fine. I think she is right. Once Sonny learns (and he will) that Julian is back in, he is going straight to Alexis with the information. They are both too involved with the Carlos situation for them not to cross paths soon. They both want him dead, so it’s almost inevitable.
Carlos is still in lock up at the PCPD. Everyone wants a piece of him, too! Paul wants to make sure he stays quiet about him killing Sloane, Sonny wants him to turn on Julian, Julian wants his loyalty, and Michael wants to know where Sabrina is! Michael was pained to learn that Sabrina married Carlos and believes he forced her hand so she would have to stay silent about his confession that he murdered Duke. When Carlos found out that a witness came forward and he won’t be going free, he changed his tune with Michael. He now wants Michael to help break him out of jail in exchange for information on Sabrina and their son. Carlos is a desperate man without a plan now. He has no allies because if he snitches on Julian he’s dead, and if he doesn’t, Sonny will make sure he’s dead. So either way, he’s dead.
Michael went to Puerto Rico and back looking for Sabrina. He took Felix with him to no avail. They thought they found her when they saw a rattle at her aunt’s house, but they were told it belonged to another baby and that Sabrina hasn’t been in touch in months. But that is a lie! The aunt gets the rattle back from the “other baby” and returns it to a baby that was in her house the whole time. She told them that there were no babies in the house, so it must be Sabrina’s! And now Michael may work with Carlos in order to find her, when, unbeknownst to him, he already has! I wish he listened to his parents and just stayed away from the whole thing. Now he’s playing with fire. Will he light the fuse that explodes in his face?
Couples Observations
Nina and Franco are over. They just couldn’t get past the whole having kids issue. Nina desperately wants a baby, and he doesn’t. When he gave her a puppy as compensation she freaked out . That was the last straw for her. She doesn’t think he knows her at all if he thinks a puppy can make up for a child. He gives the puppy to Jake instead, but Jason doesn’t let him keep it. Now Jake hates Jason, and Jason hates Franco. He even choked him! This awakened the dark side of Franco, and I think he knows he can’t be a good person anymore, and that is why he insisted that he and Nina should just end it. He was protecting her from himself and what he’s about to become.
Sam and Jason are in their own world. They are always together. But how long will their bliss last? When Jason assaulted Franco, Sam stopped him. But now he’s back on Franco’s radar, and Sam can feel it. She knows it was bad news for Jason to do that. So when they find evidence that they are being watched, she immediately thinks Franco may be the one. But is he? They seem to be working awfully hard to make you think it’s him, so I personally think it’s someone else. Maybe Jerry Jax is making his way back in the scene. He’s always hated those two. Either way, they have a stalker and it looks like their happy times are about to turn dangerous!
Jordan and Andre are officially a couple. She puts him on the spot about his intentions with her and in response he scoops her up in his arms and kisses her with deep passion. But even that gesture isn’t enough to make her feel less uneasy about his friendship with Anna. Why does it bother her so much? There is nothing between them, yet she insists on spying on them and creating drama where there is none. She should just focus on what she has and not what she fears.
Maxie and Nathan got engaged! He proposed again, with a ring and she said, “Yes”! . However, she is still under the impression that Nathan is lying about Claudette. She even goes as far as to hire Sam to investigate Nathan! Sam is reluctant though, because in her experience, she usually finds out something bad. How bad can it be? Maxie doesn’t think it will be so bad that they won’t get married, so why investigate it at all? I think she just wants to know where Claudette is now, what she looks like, and how much of a threat does she pose to her? I think she won’t find her because she is dead. But that’s just me. Why else would Nathan think that if Dante learns the truth he woud wind up in Pentonville? Whatever happened, it was bad enough for him to seek the assistance of his then crazy Aunt Liesel whom we now know as his mother. If she finds out the truth will there even be a wedding? Hold onto the excitement while it lasts Maxie!
Morgan and Kiki are growing apart. She is gravitating towards Dillon who seems to be just as interested in her. Is she just a damsel in distress? Does she automatically fall for guys who try to help/save her, or what? That is what it seems like to me. Morgan is still in the mental hospital, so if she starts seeing Dillon, will that set him off again? Will he be able to take that kind of rejection from her now? He seems stronger, but his strength is coming from being able to get well and be with her eventually. I don’t see this ending well for Morgan at all.
Final Rundown
It seems everyone is searching for something they may not want the answers to. Carly wants to know where Josslyn’s kidney came from. Dr. Finn suggests she may not want to know because it could be a black market kidney. Does she really want to know that another child was murdered or harmed in order for child to live? Maxie is searching for a truth that just may end her relationship with Nathan. Michael is searching for Sabrina, thinking she’s a victim. What will he do when he finds out she isn’t? Laura is still searching for answers to Helena’s riddle, but does she really want to open that Pandora’s box—or did she already do so? What will she find next? The biggest discoveries this week are the self-discoveries. Franco and Jason are both soul-searching to find who they really are? Have they been in denial this whole time? Jason seems to gravitate toward his dangerous side more and more, and Franco just snapped. He’s been trying so hard to show a good side and people still treat him like he’s a monster, so he might as well give the people what they want, right? I think Jason and Franco are each other’s triggers and they each are leading the other down a dark path. Just how dark will the times get in Port Charles?
