General Hospital Cliffhanger Friday 04/08/16: ‘Til Death, or, How Far Will Some Go to Retain Control?

April 8, 2016 By Tessa McKenzie

rp_general-hospital_video_2890559_362x204_1459879142976-300x169.jpgHello, LTAS readers! I’m Dr. Riley, Human Relations Analyst, and I’m back again with my analysis of the people in Port Charles. Here’s what I observed this week

 Observations

Carly is a nervous wreck. She has a son in a mental facility, Ava breathing down her neck about Avery, and Sonny is running after the very man who almost killed him. How much longer can she keep herself together?

Anna is out of control. She has lost all touch with her ethical and moral code. She may claim she is seeking justice but her actions along the way are getting more criminal. She now has DA Hornsby drugged and tied up at her house in order to keep him contained while she goes after Carlos with Sonny. She acts like there should be concern with Sonny keeping his word that he won’t kill Carlos, but is that so she can make sure she gets to kill him herself? I think Anna is more than capable at this point, don’t you?

Tracy had to have emergency surgery, which Munro performed well. He was able to remove the worms and any residual traces of them. But something seems different with her now. She seems softer, more grateful. She even told Monica that she loved her. Is it the drugs wearing off or did the brain surgery change her?

Nina is finally in charge of Crimson. She found out it was Julian that was trying to sabotage the magazine and bribed him into giving her full control while he still handles all of the finances. She is becoming more business savvy by the day! But will her personal life get in the way?

Ava is in dire straits. Someone put a dead bird in her bed as a signal that the Jerome organization is not pleased with her and is out to get her, which she was understandably horrified by, to say the least. She also made repeated attempts to let Sonny and Carly know that once Kiki is completely out of the woods, she will take Avery back. In the oddest life choice of any character this week, she invited Scott Baldwin to move in to her penthouse to be her “bodyguard.” Will he be able to protect her from an entire mob organization’s fury?

Couples Observations

Nina and Franco are in serious trouble. He got upset when he learned she had hoped to get pregnant still. He made it adamantly clear that he does not want children. She was hopeful because her results were due and assumed that if she were already pregnant that he would be happy. He told her that would not be the case and she got mad. When Dr. Lee called and told her that Brit was right, that she was unable to have children, she grew more upset. Franco tried to comfort her and she turned him away. How can he feel bad for her if he got what he wants? Will Nina be able to heal and move on, or is she going to leave Franco for good? This baby business seems like a deal-breaker to me, especially since Nina seems determined to become a mother, one way or another. Can she handle the stress of trying to have it all?

Maxie and Nathan appear to be moving on, on a good note. He told her about his marriage to Claudette and the circumstances behind it. Now the slate is clean—or is it? It seems Nathan wasn’t completely forthcoming in all of the details and the only other person who knows the truth is Dr. O. What really happened with him and Claudette, and when the full truth finally comes out will Maxie be able to forgive him for lying again?

Alexis and Julian are off to a great start. But how long will this “honeymoon” period last? He’s back in the mob, and her daughter’s life is a mess. Alexis is completely oblivious to Julian’s latest decision, because she is trying her hardest to be there for Kristina in the way she needs as she figures out who she is. Her initial reaction to Kristina maybe being gay was not what any of us expected, including her. After her discussion with Parker, she had a clearer sense of what she should do, and it worked. She was able to get things back on the right track with Kristina. Meanwhile, Julian is making orders and running the organization again. I think he has something to do with the latest threats Ava is receiving, don’t you? He seems to have something up his sleeve when it comes to her. Is there a sibling rivalry there that runs deeper than what meets the eye? Will Alexis and Julian be able to survive his latest deception?

Sam and Jason are moving steadily in the right direction. They were working together to figure out Hayden/Rachel’s past, including her shooting and figured out that Nikolas was behind it. When she confronted Nikolas and he grew violent, Jason came to her rescue telling him to get off of his wife as he threw him to the side. They fought and Curtis tried to step in and Jason completely lost it, hurling him to the side and grabbing Nikolas up by the neck. If it weren’t for Sam, he would have snapped his neck! Seeing that Nikolas and Hayden were obviously in some twisted relationship still, they left. Later on, they comfort each other and take the next step in their relationship. They made love! So I think things are definitely going in the right direction for them, don’t you?

Nikolas and Hayden/Rachel are in a severely twisted predicament. Hayden/Rachel played her winning hand, letting Nik know she knows he tried to have her killed, threatening to go to the police unless he stays married to her. She also invited Curtis to live at Wyndemere to protect her. It’s obvious that Hayden/Rachel and Nik both have real feelings for each other. However, neither one trusts the other as far as they can throw the other. The line between love and hate between them is so thin, that they share a bed, both wielding weapons of defense in case the other tries anything funny in the night. It doesn’t get any more twisted than that! Will they eventually learn to trust one another again, or is this the beginning of the end for them? ‘Til death do them part, right?
